MMDA Chairman Romando Artes confirmed that the marked vehicle flagged for traveling along the EDSA busway in a recent viral incident was General Manager Nicolas Torre III’s, though he could not be sure as to whether the official was in the vehicle during the incident.
“I think mayroon naman pong admission si GM Torre na kanya po ‘yung sasakyan na na-videohan na dumaan po sa busway. So I cannot confirm kung sakay siya at the time,” Artes said, according to a Thursday report.
However, the chairman said he was leaving the investigation on the incident up to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Aside from the vehicle passing through the EDSA Bus Carousel, the LTO is also looking into why the vehicle in question used an MMDA truck’s red plate.
“Naka-receive po kami ng show cause order, dahil ‘yung plaka po na nakakabit sa kotse na na-video nga po appeared to be a license plate sa isang sasakyan ng MMDA,” Artes said.
Torre has already voluntarily turned over the said vehicle to the LTO, pursuant to a show cause order (SCO).
