Brgy. Ginebra survived a late rally by the Meralco Bolts and seized a 99-93 victory in Game Two of the 2021-2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals on Friday, April 8, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Justin Brownlee finished with 36 points and 13 rebounds while Scottie Thompson registered 16 points and 12 rebounds for the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup champions to tie the best-of-seven series.
The Gin Kings scored 40 points in the second quarter alone which allowed them to start the third period with an 18-point advantage, 60-42.
The lead of Ginebra grew to 20 points, 69-49, at most following back-to-back three-point baskets by LA Tenorio, and Jeff Chan in the third quarter.
However, in the final period, the Bolts scored 10-straight points that brought the deficit down to two, 86-84, before Chan buried two free throws to stop the bleeding.
