The Philippines ended the tournament with one win in five games. Despite notable individual performances from Vanessa de Jesus, Jack Animam, and Naomi Panganiban, the team fell short of securing a higher spot in the standings.
De Jesus led the team with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Animam contributed seven points and 11 rebounds, while Panganiban added 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Gilas led at halftime, 32-30, but struggled to keep up with Chinese Taipei’s momentum in the second half. They were outscored 20-11 in the third quarter and 26-14 in the final period.
Chinese Taipei’s defense proved too much, recording nine steals and three blocks, while the Philippines managed only a 30.4 percent field goal shooting rate.
