Gilas Pilipinas completed a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Jordan, 82-81, in overtime in the fourth window of the FIBA Asian Qualifiers on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Philippines overcame a 14-point deficit after Jordan took a 28-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Gilas Pilipinas responded in the second quarter, outscoring Jordan 25-16 to cut the deficit to five points, 44-39, at halftime.

The Philippines continued its comeback in the third quarter, edging Jordan 15-14 before forcing overtime with an 18-14 advantage in the fourth.

The game was tied at 72-72 at the end of regulation.

In overtime, Jordan initially took control after Harris and Ibrahim scored the first two baskets to give Jordan a 76-74 lead. Perez answered with a crucial play before AJ Edu split his free throws, leaving Gilas Pilipinas down 78-75 with 1:38 remaining.

Kai Sotto then delivered a huge tip-in with 42 seconds left to put the Philippines ahead, 79-78.

Jordan tied the game at 79-79 before Quiambao hit a three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining to give Gilas Pilipinas an 82-79 lead.

Freddy Ibrahim sank both free throws to cut the Philippines' lead to one, 82-81, setting up a tense final possession.

Sotto then came up with the decisive defensive play, blocking Jordan's attempt at the end to preserve the victory.

Sotto led Gilas Pilipinas with 18 points, followed by Perez with 16, while Ramos and Quiambao each added 14.

Edu finished with nine points, Tamayo scored eight, Fajardo had two and Thompson added one. Gomez De Liano, Newsome and Baltazar were held scoreless.

For Jordan, Ibrahim led all scorers with 22 points, followed by Harris with 19 and Olajuwon with 17.

The final score by quarter was 28-14, 16-25, 14-15, 14-18, and 9-10 in overtime, in favor of Jordan and the Philippines, respectively.

Gilas Pilipinas will next face Iran on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.
