Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have officially ended their relationship, their respective talent agencies confirmed on Thursday, September 18, putting to rest weeks of speculation about the couple's status.

Star Magic, which manages Anderson, announced in a brief statement that the breakup was a mutual decision.

“Star Magic confirms that Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship,” the agency said, while appealing to the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives.

“Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support,” it added.

Barretto’s management, Viva Artists Agency, issued a separate statement echoing the confirmation.

“We emphasize that only information coming directly from Julia and Gerald should be regarded as accurate, as they are the primary parties involved. Any other claims are merely attempts to ride on the issue or to spread false information,” the agency said.

Both actors have remained silent about the breakup as of press time. Neither agency disclosed the reason behind the split.

Speculation about Anderson and Barretto’s relationship had been circulating for months. In June 2025, Anderson denied on the news magazine show that they had broken up, insisting they were “okay” at the time.

Anderson confirmed he was in a relationship with Barretto in March 2021, after they met while filming the Japan-set romantic movie Between Maybes.

The two were first linked in 2019, though both were then in separate relationships. Barretto was later drawn into controversy when Anderson’s ex-girlfriend, actress Bea Alonzo, accused the actor of “ghosting” her, but both Anderson and Barretto denied her involvement.

During their relationship, Anderson and Barretto frequently expressed confidence that they would eventually marry each other.
