Gasoline, diesel prices up, kerosene down on May 5 — DOE
by Luwela Amor04 May 2026

After three consecutive weeks of price rollbacks, motorists should expect higher fuel costs starting Tuesday, May 5, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced.

During a press conference on Monday, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin confirmed that diesel prices will increase by ₱2.66 per liter, while gasoline prices will go up by ₱2.21 per liter.

Kerosene, however, will move in the opposite direction, with a price reduction of ₱3.53 per liter.

According to the DOE, diesel prices are expected to range from ₱79.62 to ₱107.48 per liter, while gasoline will range from ₱82 to ₱107 per liter for the period of May 5 to May 11.

The agency also announced an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, with a hike of ₱1.22 per kilogram.

Garin added that the dealers’ pick-up price for LPG will range from ₱1,070.42 to ₱1,701.77 until the end of the month.

Meanwhile, DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rino Abad said companies should not impose an increase higher than ₱1.22 per kilogram. However, he noted that firms may set lower prices or even implement rollbacks.

He cited Regasco, which earlier announced a ₱2 per kilogram price cut, or ₱22 per 11-kilogram cylinder, effective starting tomorrow.

Abad said this reflects a stable LPG supply in the country despite ongoing tensions and the impact of the Middle East conflict on the global oil market.
