Filipinos may enjoy lower airfares for the next three months starting July 16, 2026, after the government ordered airlines to reduce fuel surcharges to Level 8, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) said.
Under the new surcharge level, airlines may impose a maximum fuel surcharge of ₱787 for domestic flights and up to ₱6,208.98 for international flights.
The CAB said the reduction is expected to help passengers secure more affordable airline tickets amid efforts to ease travel costs.
The lower fuel surcharge will apply to tickets issued from July 16 for the next three months, covering flights booked during the period.
Fuel surcharge levels are adjusted by the CAB based on the movement of jet fuel prices and other relevant industry factors.
