Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon Garin announced that consumers can expect a significant decrease in petroleum product prices beginning Tuesday, April 14, based on the DOE's latest price movement estimates.
While actual pump prices may still vary across fuel stations, the DOE said the minimum expected adjustments are substantial.
According to DOE estimates, diesel prices may go down by at least ₱20.89 per liter, gasoline by ₱4.43 per liter, and kerosene by ₱8.50 per liter.
The DOE emphasized that this could result in one of the largest fuel price reductions in recent weeks, with diesel expected to experience the biggest cut.
Garin explained that the projected rollback is computed using the average international oil prices over the last five days, compared with the previous week’s average.
Garin said the projections reflect the ongoing movement of global oil prices, which directly affect domestic fuel pricing.
