Contrary to expectations of a significant increase, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced a small rise in fuel prices effective tomorrow, January 13, 2026, as reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort.
Assistant Director Rodela Romero of the DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) said gasoline and kerosene prices will increase by ₱0.30 per liter, while diesel will see a ₱0.20 per liter hike.
Romero explained that the oil price adjustment is based on local movements in the global market and also factors in the operating costs of oil companies and other premiums.
Most oil firms implement their price adjustments at 6:00 a.m. every Tuesday.
