

Converge FiberXers guard Juan Gomez de Liaño shared insights into his ongoing recovery from injury and his journey as an international player.
In an exclusive interview on Matchpoint on DZRH TV, Gomez de Liaño revealed that he is still dealing with a bone contusion, admitting he remains “still hurt, still injured.” Despite the setback, he underscored the importance of patience and discipline in the recovery process, stressing that he is focused on regaining full strength before returning to the court.
The former international standout also reflected on his transition from overseas leagues to the PBA, describing it as relatively smooth. He credited his adjustment to consistent preparation and daily effort.
“I just really trusted the work I put in every day.” He added that he is surrounded by a supportive environment, where both teammates and coaching staff contribute to his continued growth.
Despite his early success, Gomez de Liaño remains grounded, noting that he still has plenty to achieve—particularly a championship title. He emphasized the value of unity and resilience within the team.
“We just have to stick together,” he said, highlighting the importance of maintaining cohesion and a shared goal.
For Gomez de Liaño, representing the country carries deep significance, describing it as something that “means everything” to him and remains one of his greatest aspirations.
He also left a message for aspiring athletes, encouraging them to stay patient and committed to their journey.
“Be patient with your journey” and “trust the process,” he said, emphasizing that true growth comes from time, perseverance, and dedication.
