Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco has been reappointed as presidential adviser for sustainable and resilient communities amid increasing climate-induced hazards negatively impacting Filipino livelihoods and local economies.
“The President has tasked Secretary Frasco to take on this role to help strengthen the implementation and sustained follow-through of priority national initiatives at the community level,” said Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, as reported by RH 14 Leth Narciso.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. thought Frasco suitable for the role, given her established connections with local governments and communities.
“The President expressed his appreciation for her service at the Department of Tourism and conveyed confidence that her experience working closely with local governments and communities will continue to support the Administration’s priorities,” Castro added.
In her stead, Tourism Undersecretary Verna Buensuceso will take over the department as officer-in-charge for the time being.
