Vice President Sara Duterte also confirmed the reports and expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who offered their sympathies and prayers.
In her statement, she described Bong Duterte as “one of the quiet yet steadfast pillars of our team,” particularly during preparations and operations for national and local campaigns in 2025.
“Tiyo Bong was one of the strengths beneath our wings during the 2025 national and local campaign planning and operations. His quiet leadership will be deeply missed as we look ahead to the 2028 elections,” VP Sara said.
She added, “We take comfort in our faith, knowing that we now have a campaign manager in heaven securing the success of the Filipino people.”
Bong Duterte had been actively involved in supporting his brother’s political engagements and was known for his media interactions, including a visit to ex-President Duterte in The Hague, Netherlands.
