The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested four individuals in an entrapment operation against unauthorized fuel sales in Barangay Maipon, Guinobatan, Albay, on March 18.

The suspects, identified by aliases “Karl,” “Malyn,” “Nel,” and “Meo,” were apprehended for violating Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended, which penalizes illegal trading and distribution of petroleum products.

Seized during the operation were three portable micro fuel dispensers, a fuel tank, sales invoices, and marked buy-bust money, with an estimated total value of ₱2.32 million.

The operation was conducted in coordination with directives from the Department of Energy (DOE) as part of ongoing efforts to curb profiteering, hoarding, and other illegal fuel-related activities.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Albay Police Field Unit for documentation and inquest proceedings.
