Police in Malolos City, Bulacan, arrested four individuals for their alleged involvement in an illegal firecracker explosion in Barangay Santiago on the night of December 31, 2025.

According to Malolos City Police Station chief PLtCol. Rommel E. Geneblazo, the suspect, identified only by the aliases Mark, Henry, Ben, and Jere, was charged with violating Republic Act No. 7183, as well as Alarms and Scandals and Malicious Mischief. A fifth suspect, alias Jepoy, remains at large.

The arrests followed a follow-up investigation that included a review of CCTV footage and information from witnesses. The complaint was filed by a barangay kagawad and a local resident.

Authorities are still assessing the extent of damage caused by the explosion, including possible damage to nearby Baliwag Transit buses and surrounding houses. The case was formally filed with the Malolos City Prosecutor’s Office on January 2, 2026, while the suspects remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
