Former NCT member Mark Lee has launched his own label, marking a new phase in his career following his departure from SM Entertainment.

The 26-year-old artist announced the launch on Wednesday through a newly created Instagram account for his company “Upper Room,“ signaling the start of his independent activities outside his former agency and group structure.

The announcement was accompanied by a video referencing the Bible passage Mark 14:12–15, which mentions an “upper room,” offering insight into the inspiration behind the company’s name.

Business registration records in South Korea indicate that Mark has established Upper Room Inc. as a management entity under the professional, scientific, and technical services category. The filings list “Lee Mark” as the company’s official representative.

In April, Mark officially parted ways with SM Entertainment and his activities within NCT following what was described as a mutual agreement to conclude his exclusive contract.

His contract ended on April 8 after a prolonged period of discussion regarding his future direction.

Following his departure, the remaining members of NCT 127 continued activities as a seven-member group, while NCT Dream proceeded as a six-member lineup.
