Patrick Dela Rosa, the 1980s matinee idol who charmed his way to the silver screen, has passed away at 64.

His nephew confirmed the news through a social media post on Monday afternoon, October 27, remembering the former actor as a man whose kindness, love, and presence shaped his life.

“To me, Uncle Patrick wasn’t just a star on screen, he was a light in my life. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and never forgot his family. He was my second father, my hero, and my best friend,” his nephew wrote.

He thanked his uncle once more, adding that he would carry with him the lessons the former had left behind.

“Rest peacefully, Uncle. You’ve touched so many lives, and your memory will forever shine bright. I love you always,” he said.

In a separate post, the Provincial Information Office – Oriental Mindoro offered its condolences. After his bout as an actor, Patrick turned to politics and served as a former board member for the province of Oriental Mindoro.

“Maraming salamat sa iyong mga iniwang ala-ala hindi lamang sa industriya ng pag-aartista, kundi maging sa pagbibigay-serbisyo para sa mga Mindoreño,” the caption read.

Following this, he and his family moved to the United States to begin anew

As of writing, the family has yet to disclose the cause of Patrick’s death.

The late matinee idol was known for his roles in Kristo, Suspek, and Ex-Con.
