In an exclusive interview on Matchpoint on DZRH TV, ultramarathon finisher Gerich Dijamco opened up about the motivation that fuels his achievements in marathons.

Dijamco, a senior systems lead analyst at Smart Communications, recently became the second Filipino to finish the Luzon 672-mile endurance run from Aparri to Sorsogon. He began running in 2018, the same year his four-year-old daughter, Keira, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

According to Dijamco, the constant force pushing him through every race is his daughter, Keira.

The time na hindi namin alam anong mangyayari kinabukasan.”

Beyond personal achievement, Dijamco carries a deeper purpose in every race. He continues to raise awareness for cancer patients and their families, emphasizing that his marathons reflect the spirit of the cancer community—where people remain visible, supported, and surrounded by those willing to help in times of need.
