Flower prices at the Dangwa flower market in Manila have started to increase several days before Valentine’s Day on February 14, according to a report by Boy Gonzales on Dos Por Dos.

On Tuesday morning, sellers said roses have seen a notable price hike, with two dozen now costing around ₱1,315. Sunflowers are being sold at ₱300 to ₱500 per bundle of 10 pieces, depending on the size. Tulips are priced at about ₱50 per stem, while Ecuadorian roses have reached ₱100 per piece.

Other popular flowers have also gone up in price. Baby’s breath is currently selling at ₱250 per kilo, while chamomile costs around ₱350 per bundle. Carnations have risen to ₱500 per bundle.

Meanwhile, pre-arranged particle bouquets with glass accessories are priced between ₱450 and ₱600.

Vendors at Dangwa said prices may still increase as Valentine’s Day approaches, noting that demand has not yet peaked.

They added that prices are expected to rise further on February 14 itself due to the anticipated surge of buyers.
