Five out of 16 contractors involved in the flood control projects were subpoenaed by the members of the House Infrastructure Committee for skipping its hearing on Tuesday, September 2.
During the Committee hearing, Manila Representative Joel Chua motioned to issue a subpoena for those who skipped the House’s scheduled hearing.
With no objections, the House Infra Committee co-Chair Terry Ridon approved the motion.
The contractors subpoenaed by the House Committee are as follows:
- Alpha & Omega General Contractor & Dev. Corp.
- St. Timothy Construction Corp.
- Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
- Wawao Builders
- SYMS Trading Corporation
The joint committee, composed of the Committees on Public Accounts, Public Works and Highways, and Good Government & Public Accountability, resumed its hearing on Tuesday, a day after several of the same contractors appeared before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
Earlier, Akbayan Partylist Rep. Chel Diokno motioned for all the members of the joint committee to make a “full disclosure” of their financial business and pecuniary interests that may be linked or affected, whether directly or indirectly, by the investigation into the anomalies in the flood control projects.
