The first-ever impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was formally filed at the House of Representatives on Monday morning, January 19.
In a report by RH Milky Rigonan, the complaint was lodged by lawyer Andrei de Jesus, citing alleged culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, and betrayal of public trust as the grounds for impeachment.
The impeachment complaint was endorsed by Pusong Pinoy Party-list Representative Jett Nisay.
The complaint has been submitted to the Office of the Secretary General of the House Representatives Cheloy Garafil.

In explaining the basis of the complaint, Nisay emphasized that public funds should instead be allocated to essential social services, particularly healthcare.
