A total of 90 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) safely returned to the country on Sunday evening amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.
According to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), 33 of the OFWs availed themselves of the government’s repatriation program, while the rest were stranded workers in Dubai.
The OFWs arrived from the United Arab Emirates aboard Emirates Flight EK 334, which landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The returning workers were welcomed by Hans Leo J. Cacdac, secretary of the DMW, and Patricia Yvonne Caunan, administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). They were joined by representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the MIA Medical Team, and the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC).
Cacdac emphasized that the government is providing various forms of pre-repatriation assistance, as well as financial aid under post-repatriation assistance, to all returning OFWs.
As of March 5, 2026, a total of 399 OFWs and 12 dependents have returned to the Philippines since the renewed crisis in the Middle East erupted on February 28, 2026.
