As the world marks the International Day of Happiness on March 20, a recent survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) shows that a majority of Filipinos continue to express positive outlooks on their lives.
Results from the Fourth Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey revealed that 33% of adult Filipinos consider themselves “very happy,” while 50% describe themselves as “fairly happy.”
Meanwhile, 15% said they are “not very happy,” and only 2% reported being “not at all happy,” reflecting an overall high level of life satisfaction nationwide.
The survey, conducted from November 24 to 30, 2025, involved face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults across Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
It carries a sampling error margin of ±3% for national figures and ±6% for area estimates.
Observed annually, the International Day of Happiness was established by the United Nations General Assembly through Resolution 66/281, recognizing happiness and well-being as key goals that should guide public policy and development efforts worldwide.
