

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that a Filipino was displaced due to heavy flooding due to Cyclone Ditwah that hit Sri Lanka.
"The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, in coordination with the Honorary Consulate General in Sri Lanka, is closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Sri Lanka in light of the heavy rainfall and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah," the DFA stated.
In a message to media, DFA said that the Filipino is currently in a local hospital for medical attention and is being assisted by the Honorary Consulate General.
"As of 30 November 2025, one Filipino in Negombo City is confirmed to have been displaced because of the floods. She is now getting medical attention at a local hospital, and being assisted by the Honorary Consulate General," the DFA mentioned.
Meanwhile, the DFA said that the Embassy continues to coordinate with Sri Lankan authorities and stands ready to provide assistance to any Filipino who may have been affected by the calamity.
