Filipina pool ace Chezka “The Flash” Centeno secured a runner-up finish at the 2026 Las Vegas Women’s Open after a hard-fought final against Tzu-Chien Wei of Chinese Taipei on Tuesday morning (Manila time). Wei emerged victorious, narrowly defeating Centeno 2-0 in sets, 3-4 and 3-4.
Centeno’s impressive run to the final began with a thrilling quarterfinal clash against Austria’s Jasmin Ouschan early Monday in the United States.
The two-hour and 57-minute 10-ball match saw Centeno clinch the win, 2-1 in sets, with scores of 4-2, 2-4, and 4-3, showcasing her resilience and strategic prowess on the table.
Despite falling short in the championship match, Centeno’s performance in Las Vegas highlighted her status as one of Asia’s top female cue artists and added valuable experience to her international career.
In an online post, Centeno took time to appreciate her match and to congratulate her opponent, Wei Wei, on a great performance and a well-deserved win.
"It wasn’t my sharpest performance. I wasn’t at my absolute best this week. But even on the days when I don’t feel unstoppable, I still choose to show up for myself and for the people who believe in me. And by God’s grace, I was still there on the last day. Still standing. Still fighting," Centeno captioned in her social media post.
Centeno's tour is not over yet as she is set to join the WPA World Teams Championship, where Team Philippines plays Team Poland at 11:30 AM Las Vegas time on February 25.
