Filipino-American actress and singer Isa Briones has been named to TIME100 Next 2026, joining a list of rising global figures recognized by TIME for shaping the next generation of leadership.

Briones, known for her work in television and Broadway, was recognized for her performances and advocacy for authentic portrayals of Filipino women onscreen.

Her TIME100 Next profile was written by Emmy-winning actress Katherine LaNasa, who praised Briones for her range as an actress, from vulnerability and deadpan comedy to more intense roles.

LaNasa also highlighted Briones’ singing ability and her Broadway performance as Connie Francis in Just in Time, while describing her as an actress who remains true to her identity and personal style.

Briones currently stars as Dr. Trinity Santos in the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt. She made her Broadway debut in 2024 as Eurydice, appearing alongside her father, Filipino actor Jon Jon Briones.

The recognition adds to Briones’ growing international profile as an actress and singer with Filipino roots.

Also included in the TIME100 Next 2026 is Filipina tennis star Alex Eala. Her profile was written by tennis icon and two-time Olympic gold medalist Rafael Nadal, who has followed Eala’s development since her time at the Rafa Nadal Academy.
