Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso presented to the public a father and son who surrendered to authorities over the fatal stabbing of a neighbor in Tondo, emphasizing that justice must be served for the victim.
The suspects, identified as Jeffrey Saludar, 49, and Jefferson Saludar, 25, turned themselves in at the Manila Police District–Raxabago Police Station and were later presented during a public briefing by the Manila Public Information Office. Police investigation revealed that the suspects admitted to stabbing Jhon Jhon Bacolod, 46, inside a computer shop in Barangay 105, GK Compound, Tondo. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and later died while being treated at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center. The suspects claimed they did not intend to kill Bacolod and only sought to confront him over an earlier incident on April 12, where the victim allegedly attempted to stab the younger suspect. However, the confrontation escalated, resulting in the fatal attack. Domagoso underscored accountability, stating, “The end does not justify the means. Kailangan ninyong harapin ang ginawa ninyo. Kailangan makamit ng biktima ang hustisya.” Authorities have filed murder charges against the suspects before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office as the investigation continues.
