A 40-year-old farmer was killed while his 17-year-old son was wounded after unidentified gunmen opened fire on them late Friday night, July 10, in Barangay Balao, Burauen, Leyte.

The fatality, identified as alias "Rico," was declared dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, according to a report by RH Jimmy Angay-angay.

His son, alias "Yanyan," suffered gunshot wounds to his left leg and hand and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
