The family of Filipino doctor Juan Carlos Manalo is appealing for information on his whereabouts after he was reported missing following a flash flood near the Nepal border on Wednesday, August 26.
His sister, Chiara Manalo, made the appeal in a social media post, asking the public to provide any information that could help locate her brother.
“Please help us look for my brother,” Chiara said in her post.
According to the family, Juan Carlos’ last communication with them was on Tuesday, August 25, at 1:21 p.m. Philippine Time (11:06 a.m. Nepal Time).
The doctor was reportedly traveling with the Isha Sadhguru group as part of its Kailashyatra tour. The group’s last known location was at the Immigration Office in Gyirong, near the Nepal-China border.
The family said they have been closely following reports about the catastrophe and are seeking assistance from appropriate agencies that may coordinate with Nepalese authorities and support ongoing search operations.
“We humbly ask to include him in your prayers, that he may return to us safely soon,” Chiara said.
The family is appealing to anyone who may have information about Juan Carlos or the group he was traveling with to come forward and coordinate with them or the appropriate authorities.
As of this report, the circumstances surrounding Juan Carlos’ disappearance and the status of the search for him have yet to be independently confirmed.
