Families have begun arriving in large numbers at the Manila North Cemetery on Monday to clean and repair the graves of their departed loved ones ahead of Undas, according to RH Boy Gonzale's report.
Relatives were seen repainting tombs and making other preparations for the annual observance.
Authorities of cemetery have designated October 28 as the last day for cleaning and burials before stricter regulations take effect for the holiday period.
The cemetery remains open from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and officials expect more visitors to arrive later in the day as people make final arrangements before Undas.
From October 29 to November 2, the Manila local government will implement crowd control measures, including the placement of barriers and tents to ensure the smooth flow of people entering and exiting the cemetery.
While, vendors selling flowers and candles have been relocated to Blumentritt Road to avoid congestion inside the premises.
The Manila local government unit (LGU) has also issued a reminder prohibiting the entry of firearms, sharp objects such as knives and blades, alcoholic beverages, pets, loud sound systems, and flammable items like alcohol and thinner inside the cemetery.
Authorities urge the public to follow the regulations and observe safety and cleanliness as they pay their respects during this year’s Undas observance.
