Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa have petitioned the Supreme Court for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and injunction to halt the potential execution of an alleged International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Dela Rosa.

RH Boy Gonzales reports that through their legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, the camp of Duterte and Dela Rosa filed a manifestation requesting immediate issuance of a TRO.

The petitioners cited threats of “illegal arrest, surrender, or turnover” following Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s disclosure on November 8 of a purported warrant against the senator.

On November 9, they reportedly received information about an alleged Diffusion Order from the ICC concerning potential extradition.

Duterte and Dela Rosa argued that the ICC’s actions, along with the cooperation of certain government agencies—including the Department of Justice through the Witness Protection Program—violate national sovereignty and existing Philippine laws.

The former president and the senator urged the Supreme Court to act promptly on their request to prevent any enforcement of the alleged warrant without proper judicial authorization.
