Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III made light of his current situation by joking about working as a food delivery rider on Wednesday.

This comes after Torre personally visited Representative Leila de Lima and delivered a cake to her for her birthday.

“Pumasok ako sa food delivery at nakatanggap ako ng message sa aking app, at nakita ko na birthday cake so I delivered it. And nagkataon pala na birthday ni Congressman De Lima so nagulat ako na nadala ko ang cake sa kaniya,” Torre said in jest during an ambush interview.

The lighthearted comment came amid ongoing political attention surrounding his dismissal.

Earlier, De Lima of the Mamamayang Liberal Partylist, publicly questioned President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s continued silence over Torre’s removal from office.
