Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manny Bonoan has yet to return to the Philippines nearly a month after his scheduled arrival on December 17, amid an ongoing investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects, as reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort.

Immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval told DZRH News that the agency has not recorded any new travel or trips by Bonoan.

When asked whether the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is still monitoring his movements, Sandoval clarified that the agency’s oversight is limited to entry and exit from the country.

She also emphasized that the BI has no legal basis to take any further action against the former secretary. However, if an arrest warrant is issued by a law enforcement agency, the BI could coordinate with Interpol to assist in his apprehension.

Bonoan was previously placed under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO), but Sandoval noted that this is intended solely for travel monitoring and does not constitute a travel restriction.
