Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo advanced to the floor exercise finals of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Antalya, Türkiye, continuing his strong run in the international circuit.
Yulo secured his spot in the event finals after finishing fourth in the qualification round, trailing Spain’s Rayderley Zapata by just 0.300 points.
Despite missing the cut in the pommel horse and still rings qualification rounds, the Filipino gymnast remains in contention as he is set to compete in three more apparatus events on the second day of qualifications.
The event finals are scheduled on March 14, where Yulo will try to improve his performance and contend for a medal.
The Antalya result follows another finals appearance for Yulo in the previous World Cup leg in Baku, Azerbaijan. In the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, he also reached the floor exercise finals, eventually finishing sixth overall.
