Eight people were injured after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) allegedly lost control and crashed into four other vehicles along Oliveros Drive, EDSA Balintawak in Quezon City on Friday.
According to a report by Val Gonzales, the initial investigation by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Traffic Sector 1 reports that the SUV first slammed into a pick-up truck before spinning several times.
The driver of the pick-up truck said the SUV continued to rotate uncontrollably before hitting a taxi and two motorcycles that were behind it.
The eight injured individuals were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have yet to disclose the identities and conditions of the victims.
The collision caused heavy traffic after two northbound lanes of EDSA were blocked while authorities responded to the scene and cleared the wreckage.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
