The easterlies will continue to affect the eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas on Sunday, July 5, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau.
Areas expected to experience these weather conditions include Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, and the Dinagat Islands.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
State meteorologists warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides in areas vulnerable to these hazards.
As of 3 a.m. Sunday, Super Typhoon Bavi was spotted approximately 2,700 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The cyclone was packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts reaching up to 240 kph, while moving westward at 15 kph.
Despite its strength, Bavi is still far from the country and is not directly affecting Philippine weather at this time.
