Easterlies will continue to affect large parts of the country on Friday, April 3, bringing generally fair weather with chances of isolated rainshowers, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said the easterlies will influence weather conditions over Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, but these will be caused by localized thunderstorms.
Despite the chances of rain, high temperatures remain a concern. PAGASA warned that the heat index may reach up to 41°C in some areas, particularly in La Granja in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Cotabato City in Maguindanao.
The state weather bureau added that no low pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone development.
Authorities continue to advise the public to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, especially during peak afternoon hours.
