The Philippine Atmospheric Agency reported Saturday that easterly winds are currently the dominant weather system affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing generally fair conditions to much of the archipelago.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the majority of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies throughout the day.
However, forecasters noted that the eastern section of Mindanao can expect more overcast conditions, with scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunderstorms likely to persist across the region.
In contrast, cloud formation and convective activities remain largely suppressed over most of Luzon. Weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz said the probability of widespread or heavy rainfall in these areas is currently low.
Residents in Metro Manila and the remaining provinces of Luzon can expect mostly clear skies with only a minimal chance of isolated rain.
State weather officials confirmed they are not monitoring any tropical cyclones within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The current forecast indicates that no storm development is expected for at least the next two to three days.
PAGASA continues to advise the public to monitor weather updates for any significant changes in the national atmospheric outlook as the prevailing easterlies continue to influence local conditions.
