A tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is being monitored as the easterlies affect Extreme Northern Luzon on Tuesday, September 15, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

As of 3 a.m. Tuesday, the tropical depression was located about 2,675 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, at 12.4°N, 150.0°E.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness of up to 70 kph.

The tropical depression was moving north-northeastward at 15 kph.

PAGASA continues to monitor the weather disturbance, which remains outside the PAR.
