The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the easterlies are affecting Mindanao and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Sunday, June 14, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains to several areas.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also caused by the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned the public that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides in areas vulnerable to these hazards.

As of Sunday morning, the state weather bureau said no Low Pressure Area (LPA) is being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for possible tropical cyclone formation.
