The easterlies continue to affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Friday, June 12, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms to several areas, according to the state weather bureau.
The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region are expected to experience occasional rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides in areas vulnerable to these hazards.
For coastal conditions, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected across the country, making sea travel generally favorable.
As of this writing, PAGASA said no low pressure area is being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, indicating no immediate threat of tropical cyclone formation.
Authorities advised the public to remain vigilant and monitor weather updates, especially in areas that may experience sudden thunderstorms.
