Alex Eala and Venus Williams are set to reunite on court, this time as a wildcard doubles pairing at the Mubadala DC Open, adding star power to the hardcourt tournament from July 27 to August 2.

Tournament organizers introduced the tandem as a “Dream Team” on social media, marking their first hardcourt appearance together. The pairing blends Eala’s rising form with Williams’ veteran presence, drawing early attention ahead of the main draw.

Eala enters the event riding a strong stretch this season. The Filipina recently earned “Star of the Swing” honors for the 2026 grass-court campaign after winning the Birmingham Open — her second WTA 125 title — and reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon.

The DC Open features a deep field led by world No. 3 Jessica Pegula and No. 10 Elina Svitolina, along with Naomi Osaka, Jasmine Paolini, Marta Kostyuk, Diana Shnaider and Anna Kalinskaya.

Also competing are Madison Keys, Leylah Fernandez, Emma Navarro and Clara Tauson, among others, setting the stage for a competitive week in Washington.

Eala is also slated to face familiar company in the draw, including fellow Southeast Asian player Janice Tjen, as she continues her climb on the international circuit.
