Filipino tennis standout Alex Eala will make her mixed doubles debut at the US Open alongside world No. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime, tournament organizers confirmed, as the pair joins a star-studded field for this year’s competition.

Auger-Aliassime, a 25-year-old Canadian, brings significant experience to the partnership. He won the mixed doubles bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Gabriela Dabrowski and has consistently delivered strong results in Grand Slam tournaments.

He reached the US Open semifinals in 2021 and 2025, advanced to the quarterfinals of this year’s French Open and Wimbledon, and made the last eight at the 2022 Australian Open.

Eala, one of the Philippines’ rising tennis stars, will be competing in mixed doubles at Flushing Meadows for the first time, marking another milestone in her young career.

The Eala-Auger-Aliassime tandem is among 16 confirmed pairs in the draw, which also features top names in the sport, including Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka, Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula, as well as Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek.

According to the US Open, eight additional teams will be determined via wild cards, with announcements to follow.

Two more pairs will earn spots in the main draw through an eight-team qualifying tournament scheduled on Monday, Aug. 24. The qualifying field will include six direct entries and two wild card teams.

Ahead of the US Open, Eala is set to compete in the DC Open this week. She is also expected to see action in the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open as part of her buildup to the year’s final Grand Slam.
