Alex Eala and Felix Auger-Aliassime were unable to advance in the 2026 US Open mixed doubles championship after a 4-1, 4-1 loss to husband-and-wife tandem Gaël Monfils and Elina Svitolina on Tuesday (Manila Time).

The Filipina-Canadian pair struggled to match the pace of Monfils and Svitolina, who quickly took control of the match at Louis Armstrong Stadium. The match lasted just 39 minutes.

Eala and Auger-Aliassime managed three aces and nine winners but committed eight unforced errors. Svitolina and Monfils, meanwhile, won all seven points behind their first serves and converted five of nine second-serve points.

The defeat ended Eala's mixed doubles campaign before she shifts her attention to the rest of her US Open schedule.

The World No. 18 is set to face American Iva Jovic in the Stars of the Open exhibition on Aug. 27 before beginning her women's singles campaign.

The US Open women's singles main draw is scheduled to begin Aug. 30, with Eala expected to enter as a seeded player following her rise to No. 18 in the WTA rankings.
