Ate Daisy and her family will no longer have to live in their collapsed and flooded home after DZRH heard and responded to her story.
Ate Daisy Artista, 55, is a hardworking coffee vendor at the public market in Obando, Bulacan, and a loyal DZRH listener. Despite life’s difficulties, she makes it a habit to turn on the radio every day—not only to stay informed, but also to keep company with her husband Ipe, who has been bedridden since suffering a stroke last year.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Ate Daisy won the DZRH Malacash Promo in Barangay Paliwas, Obando. Her only request was a wheelchair for her husband, which DZRH immediately granted through its Operation Tulong program.
However, what deeply moved many was the condition of their home. Malacash Promo host Sherwin Alfaro was brought to tears upon seeing the couple’s collapsed house, still submerged in water—a painful image of the hardship they have been enduring.
According to Ate Daisy, she had been unable to repair their house because her daily earnings were barely enough to cover her child’s school expenses and her husband’s medication.
"Kaya nga po ginagawa kong magbente kwatro oras para lang mairaos sila sa araw araw. Hindi ko na nga po kaya, ang tulog ko nalang po siguro tatlong oras araw-araw," Ate Daisy shared.
Through the help of Dos Por Dos, DZRH, and in coordination with the National Housing Authority led by Mr. Alvin Feliciano, Ate Daisy and her family will be provided with a new home at St. Gregory Housing, Panghulo, Malabon—a fresh start away from the ruins and flooding.
Aside from the wheelchair, Ate Daisy also received financial assistance from Dos Por Dos anchors Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja, Broadcast Personality Vic Lima, Micha Salarza of the MBC Media Group Ads and Promo Department, and Bulacan 6th District Congressman Ador Pleyto to help them rebuild their lives.
Ate Daisy’s story proves that radio is not just a source of news—it is also a voice of compassion and hope.
A reminder that in times of hardship, DZRH is always ready to help.
