As part of the 86th anniversary celebration of DZRH on July 15, the station honored one of its most beloved traditions—radio drama—by spotlighting the talented voices behind the microphone.
The DZRH Drama actors sat down with Cheska San Diego-Bobadilla for an intimate and heartfelt conversation about their journeys, challenges, and the joy of voice acting.
For decades, DZRH Drama has captivated Filipino listeners with compelling stories that echo real-life struggles, triumphs, and emotions. But behind every character is an actor pouring their heart and soul into every line—often unseen, but always felt.
Ed, one of the station’s veteran voice actors, shared a deeply personal and memorable moment in his career: playing a gay character.
"Nagagawa ko yung mga imposible kong gawin," he said, reflecting on the emotional depth and freedom that the role offered. "It was truly a worthwhile experience."
Jun, another seasoned actor, described his journey as one filled with excitement and meaning. “There’s no dull moment in this career,” he said. He considers being named Best Actor one of his most priceless accomplishments—a recognition of the passion and dedication he brings to every performance.
For Osang, voice acting goes beyond performance—it’s a bond that transcends age.
The DZRH Drama team agreed that in their line of work, no two days are ever the same. Each recording session is filled with surprises, lessons, and joy, making every moment in the studio unforgettable.
Their stories reflect more than just the craft of acting but they represent the heart of Filipino radio drama and its power to connect with audiences through voice, emotion, and imagination.
As DZRH continues its legacy as the country's first and longest-running radio station, its drama actors remain a vital part of that tradition—reminding us that even in the age of digital media, the power of the spoken word still resonates deeply.
