Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday, March 8, joined Filipinos in honoring National Women’s Month, emphasizing the vital role of women in rebuilding lives and communities.

In her statement, Duterte acknowledged the resilience and strength of Filipino women across all walks of life — from mothers carefully managing household resources, to farmers recovering from natural disasters, to overseas workers contributing globally.

“Women do not just survive crises — we rebuild lives and communities,” Duterte said.

However, she stressed that recognition alone is not enough. Duterte called for concrete measures to support women, including real protection for those in the informal sector, climate-resilient assistance for farmers, and genuine access to financing for women entrepreneurs.

It is a strategy for inclusive growth,” she added.

The Vice President urged Filipinos to work together to create a society where every woman can lead with dignity and where future generations of girls inherit opportunities, not just responsibilities.
