A dump truck loaded with sand crashed into several concrete barriers along the eastbound lane of Marcos Highway near Santolan LRT-2 Station in Pasig City on Wednesday morning, according to a report by Edniel Parrosa.

The driver, Leonard Mendoza, said he fell asleep while driving, causing the accident.

Mendoza told DZRH that he and his wife were traveling from Pampanga and were on their way to Tanay, Rizal, when he dozed off behind the wheel.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident as the truck was reportedly moving at a slow speed.

The collision destroyed several concrete barriers, and the front portion of the dump truck, with plate number NCK 1203, was also damaged.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the driver will face charges of reckless driving resulting in damage to property.
