A drunken male coffee shop owner from Subic, Zambales, is facing multiple charges after causing two separate vehicular crashes and pulling out a gun inside the Barangay Hall of Mabayuan, Olongapo City, past midnight, according to Barangay Captain Edwin Esposo.
The suspect, who was driving a Toyota Avanza, first hit a parked Toyota Innova and fled the scene. Barangay patrol pursued him and later caught up with him in Barangay Kalaklan, where he crashed again, this time into a blue tricycle carrying passengers, causing them to be thrown off and rushed to the hospital.
Authorities brought the suspect to the Mabayuan Barangay Hall. While inside the patrol office, he allegedly pulled out a firearm after asking to step out to urinate and ordering the barangay tanods to leave the room. Barangay personnel immediately sought police assistance.
Following several minutes of negotiation, the suspect eventually surrendered and was turned over to Olongapo City Police Office Station 5 for proper disposition.
Barangay Captain Esposo reminded the public not to drink and drive, especially during the holiday season.
