President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the fast-tracking of the construction and widening of the new, permanent F. Manalo Bridge in Pasig City, citing traffic congestion along the temporary bridge connecting Pasig and Quezon City.

Marcos said the heavy traffic in the area delays both motorists and commuters, aside from adding to fuel consumption.

According to Department of Public Works (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, the agency is also resolving the issues with the right-of-way so as to begin the construction and full replacement of the bridge this year.

The F. Manalo Bridge was destroyed during the Super Typhoon Carina (international name Gaemi) in 2024.
