The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started repairing large potholes along the temporary access road in Bacoor City, Cavite, following days of heavy rain that damaged portions of the roadway.

The repair work is being carried out as construction continues on the bridge along the Alabang-Zapote Diversion Road.

Motorists have experienced difficult driving conditions in the area as deep potholes developed along the temporary access road. Some portions of the road were described by motorists as resembling craters because of their size and depth.

The damage was aggravated by successive rains in recent days, making travel more difficult and slowing traffic along the route.

To help ease congestion while repairs are underway, the Zapote River Drive Road has also been opened to private and public vehicles.

The road will serve as an alternative route for motorists while DPWH crews work to repair the damaged sections of the temporary access road.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect possible delays while road repairs and bridge construction continue in the area.
